Actually, not much more needs to be said about the band Die Sterne, especially in Hamburg. They are considered one of the most important representatives of the so-called “Hamburger Schule” and had a lasting influence on German pop music in the 1990s. At that time (and possibly still today) no Indiedisko could do without the song “Was hat dich bloß so ruiniert”.
Frank Spilker, singer and founder of the band, found a new formation after 27 years and released the highly acclaimed debut album Hallo Euphoria with them in 2022. The documentary film accompanies this process, among other things. In addition, protagonists and fans of the “Hamburger Schule” have their say. However, the film is not only a nostalgic look back at past times, but above all tells the story of an indie band in the change of time. Keyword: Deal with a major label.
